Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying a relaxing Sunday evening. Today was definitely bittersweet for me because I had to head back to school! I am excited about the prospect of a brand new semester, but also a little sad to leave my family.
I wanted to do a post about my tips and tricks for going back to school after a long break. It can be hard to get back into the groove especially because you are so used to sleeping in every day (well at least I am!).
These are the things that help me get back on track so I can experience the best semester possible.
1. Set your alarm
This seems like a no brainer, but you would be surprised about how many people don't set their alarm for class. Even if you have class later, set your alarm for a decent time so you can get up and start your day. Once you get up early for about a week you will be adapted to it!
2. Get in a routine
This kind of goes along with setting your alarm. If at all possible get up at the same time everyday and create a little routine for yourself. Go to the gym, eat breakfast, shower and then get dressed. It doesn't matter what you do or what order you do it in as long as you have a set schedule. This will help you get readjusted to having responsibilities again!
3. Use a planner
I think I have talked about this before, but I can't stress enough the importance of a planner. Not only does this keep you organized, but it also helps you keep track of what you are doing weeks and even months from now. Writing things down helps you remember, so what better way than in a cute planner. Here is a link to the planner I use!
4. Schedule your time
I have noticed that I always do better when I plan out my day. This means setting aside both work and play time. I am one of those people who likes to get the important stuff out of the way before I have leisure time. Make sure you set time out for homework, class and of course fun!
5. Keep things tidy
Again, this seems like the oldest bit of advice in the book, but this is probably the most important to me. Keeping a clean room and work space is crucial to your productivity as a student. If you just can't seem to keep your room clean make sure you are going somewhere neat and quiet to complete your work, like the library.
