Good morning everyone! Wherever you are I hope the beginning of your Thursday has been fantastic. Even if the sun isn't shining I hope you have a bright disposition. There is no reason not to!!
Today is another post that I had a blast writing. When I first started this blog I wanted to incorporate books into the the theme because reading is one of my dearest pastimes. In high school during the summer I would go to my local library and get a stack of about six books. When I was finished I would immediately go back for more. Reading transforms you to a different place in a different time. To me it is like an escape and that's why I love it so much.
If you are new to my blog then I want to explain something quickly. The title of this blog is correlated to some of my greatest passions in life. Not only do I enjoy reading books, but also poetry. One of my most loved poets is Lord Byron (swoon). He was a literary genius and quite handsome. How someone could write such beautiful things about people is beyond me. Ugh I am obsessed. Anyways, that explains the reasoning behind my title.
I love writing about fashion and beauty because I think that is where my talents blossom, but sometimes it is nice to switch it up. If a poet is the muse behind my blog then I think it is necessary for me to post about books every once in awhile. Besides, it is summer and there is no better time to hit the beach with a book and a drink.
I am currently focused on three books at the moment. Now, that may seem like a lot but they all have a unique purpose in my day. The first book is called 365 Daily Devotions to Embrace What Matters Most by John Michalak. I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me. In the morning I like to have my coffee and read an entry. It is such a lovely way to start my day because it gets my mind focused on what I need to do in order to be my best self. If you are religious or spiritual I highly reccomend getting one of these. There are literally hundreds to choose from.
The next book is more focused on my relationship with Christ. I picked this one up a few months ago, but just got around to starting it. I am obsessed. The book is called She Believes: Embracing the Life You Were Created to Live by Debbie Lindell. The author is a pastor's wife and has so much knowledge on what it looks like to be a woman after the Lord. She shares personal anecdotes and incorporates verses to back up her advice. If you are a woman looking for a spiritual pick me up then I highly reccomend this one.
The last one is more of a light read. I am obviously obsessed with everything fashion, so I just had to get this book when I saw it. 100 Years of Fashion by Cally Blackman is like the encyclopedia of style throughout the years. Some of the most influential decades are represented with divine images of impeccable fashion. If I have some downtime and am in the mood to look at pretty pictures then I flip through this. It is such a great coffee table read.
I would love to hear what you guys are reading this summer. Please comment any must reads down below!
Thank you for visiting and have a delightful day.
